Mindful Moments: Creating a Balanced Offsite Experience

Insights from a CEO on Wellness Breaks

As offsite meetings and team-building retreats become more common, integrating mindfulness and wellness is essential for enhancing productivity, team cohesion, and getting the most out of your investments. Johan Majlov, CEO of Lean Dimensions International, shares his thoughts on incorporating wellness breaks into CEO retreats and long work intensives.

How to Make Your Offsite Sessions more Mindful and Balanced

Tip 1: Start with Mindfulness
Begin each session with a quick guided meditation. Just 3-5 minutes of deep breathing can center your team and set a positive tone for the day.

Tip 2: Structure Your Schedule for Wellness
Create a balanced agenda with regular wellness breaks. After 90 minutes of work, include a 10-minute break for stretching or a short walk to keep everyone refreshed. Provide your people with a guide of local nature attractions to help cultivate time for deep breaths outdoors.

Tip 3: Foster a Calming Environment
Use soft lighting, comfortable seating, and natural elements like plants. Add soothing background music and provide hydration and healthy snacks to enhance the atmosphere.
